Ischua Creek

Submitted by Nancy Stock: May, 2003.

A group of four of us kayaked Ischua Creek from Franklinville to Hinsdale (New York) on Sunday, May 4. We put in off Route 16 on Coal Chutes Road, about three miles south of Franklinville. We pulled out in Hinsdale. The creek basically follows Route 16, so you can put in and pull out at many locations. Our trip took about five hours, allowing for a lengthy lunch stop and a few short breaks. We had a great time, with plenty of riffles and a few minor rapids! We'd recommend this trip to anyone looking for a new creek to try.
